Terms of Service
The agreement between you and the operator of PneumonAI. Please read it before you upload.

This service is not medical care.
PneumonAI is an educational screening aid. It is not a medical device, it does not provide a diagnosis, and it is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. It holds no regulatory clearance or certification (FDA, EU MDR/CE or equivalent). Never use it to decide whether to seek care, and never delay seeking care because of anything it shows you. If you think you may have a medical emergency, call your local emergency number.
1. Who you are contracting with
PneumonAI is operated jointly by Arsenii Ahamalov and Artem Romanov ("we", "us"). Contact: pneumonai@protonmail.com. Either of us can be contacted about any part of the service.
We are a software operator, not a healthcare provider. We employ no clinicians and we provide no medical services.
2. What the service does
You upload a chest X-ray image. An ensemble of three openly published research models produces a screening score, and the site shows that score against a fixed flagging point, together with a single map from a separate model marking the region most likely to hold a finding. That model casts no vote on the score. This is free and requires no account.
You may also request a written explanation of a result you have already received (the "report"). No money is charged for it, but during the pilot it is opened with an access key, which caps how many reports can be produced. The report is generated by a large language model from the numerical output of the screening models. The language model is not given your image.
The models are research artefacts trained on public datasets of adult hospital patients. They have not been validated on children, on other populations, or on photographs of printed film. Measured performance figures published on this site come from our own test runs on public research datasets and describe those datasets only.
3. Eligibility and acceptable use
You must be at least 18 years old to use this service.
You may upload only images that are your own, or that you are otherwise lawfully entitled to upload and to have processed by us. Do not upload another person's medical images without a lawful basis for doing so, and do not upload images containing identifying information you are not entitled to share.
Do not use the service to make clinical decisions about other people, to provide medical services to third parties, or in any emergency.
4. Price — free while in testing
The service is free while we are in testing and gathering feedback. There is no charge, no account, no subscription, and no payment details are collected from you. This is a stage, not a permanent policy — we intend to charge for reports later.
We may introduce paid features later. If we do, the price and what it covers will be shown before you are asked to pay, nothing will ever be charged without your explicit confirmation, and these terms will be updated first. Anything you use while the service is free stays free — we will not bill retroactively.
5. Accuracy, and the absence of any warranty of correctness
The service is provided "as is". We do not warrant that any result, score, heatmap or report is accurate, complete or suitable for any purpose. Screening tools of this kind produce both false positives and false negatives, and this one is deliberately tuned to favour catching cases over avoiding false alarms — meaning a substantial proportion of flagged scans belong to people who do not have pneumonia.
Nothing produced by the service is a medical opinion, and no clinician has reviewed it.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on the service, including any decision to seek, delay or forgo medical care. Our total liability in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your mandatory rights as a consumer under Czech and EU law.
7. Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend or discontinue the service at any time, and because it is provided free of charge we may do so without notice. Nothing you have already received is taken away from you retroactively.
We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published here at the time you use the service, and the date it was last changed is shown at the top of this page.
8. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer-law provisions of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
Consumer disputes may also be submitted to the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce, coi.cz) or through the EU online dispute resolution platform.
